Instructions
Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, approximately 8-10 minutes. Reserve half a cup of pasta water, then drain.
Prepare the Sauce
In a wide pan, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add Garlic
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Incorporate Tomato Paste
Add the tomato paste and cook for about 2 minutes to deepen the flavor.
Mix in Crushed Tomatoes
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, salt, black pepper, red chili flakes, oregano, and basil. Allow the sauce to simmer for 8-10 minutes.
Creamy Touch
Lower the heat and slowly add the heavy cream, stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Combine with Pasta
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss until evenly coated. Use reserved pasta water to adjust the consistency if needed.
Final Seasoning
Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Top with chopped fresh basil before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container, keeping pasta and sauce separate to prevent sogginess. Reheat in a pan or microwave, adding liquid if it’s dry. For variations, add protein or adjust spice levels.
