Instructions
Preparation
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the cream cheese until the mixture is smooth. If using, mix in the chocolate chips.
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Press a small indentation into the center of each dough ball and fill it with a teaspoon of salted caramel sauce.
Baking
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are set.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle a little sea salt on top of each cookie.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Don’t overmix the dough and ensure proper ingredient measurement for the best results. You can store them at room temperature, in the refrigerator, or freeze for longer preservation.
